Beginning of summer vacations
Summer vacation were about to begin. I wished my friends, my teachers a happy holiday. Then I set for home. I was very excited for I had planned everything beforehand. Some days passed by. I helped my mother in the household works. We both sisters had spent good times playing, watching television. It was the month of May. We asked our parents can we go out for a picnic. I told that Pikko would also come with us.
My parents agreed to it and they told that we would be going in the coming Sunday. We both sisters were very happy as we would out for a picnic with PIKKO. My mother had prepared all the eatables. My father began putting fruits, sandwiches, and pickles in picnic basket. I was too collecting some important necessities for the outing. I was very excited as it was Pikko’s first picnic. Pikko too was very happy as I could see by his behavior. He was very active, wagging his tail and running after everybody. We would always take a camera when going for an outing as it would always keep the memories alive. We were going for a lakeside picnic.
Enjoying along the way
We went in our car. Pikko just leaped into the car as he seemed very eager for his first outing. This was not his first outing but he had never gone so far. I asked Pikko, “Are you enjoying the trip.” As a reply he licked my face. Throughout the way he was looking out of the window and enjoying the fresh air barking at each and every passerby. I think he wanted to tell that he is too on an outing. Some people waved back at him.
“Pikko don’t get afraid. Nothing would happen to as long we all are with you.”
After an hour of travelling we reached our place Sankey Tank. It was a huge lake. Cool breeze was blowing refreshing our minds and bodies. We had his leash on to control him. When we opened the door he just lashed out enjoying his freedom and the open space. He started to roam here and there sniffing around and getting the smell. We started eating our food as he dashed around. After our eating we gave Pikko his favourite food. He ate it greedily as he was hungry. Now it was the time for games. We had brought a ball. Pikko, as all dogs loved fetching the ball for us. I would throw the ball as far as I could and he would fetch it. He was trained to do so. Once I had thrown the ball so far that it got lost. We searched for long but couldn’t find it. At last we found it. As I bent down to pick the ball, I could hear a hissing sound. There was a small snake in the nearby bush a little far from ball. Pikko was afraid and started barking loudly. I called my parents and my father carefully took the ball. I comforted him saying, “Pikko don’t get afraid. Nothing would happen to as long we all are with you.” He stared at me back as if saying “I know that. I was worried for you.” We packed all our things and came all along the way back. We all were very tired. I went to sleep with my Pikko lying beside me carefree as I knew he is there to take care of me always
